Well my last post of the year, I hope everyone has a SAFE New Year. I send my thoughts and prayers to all the solders that have been sent to the armpit of Earth. I hope that you can get the job done and come home in 2005.

O’Reilly teased an upcoming segment of The O’Reilly Factor, broadcast live from the Democratic National Convention, by saying of convention speaker Senator Edward Kennedy: “When we come back, we’ll let you listen to Ted Kennedy for a while, if he shows up.” In fact, Kennedy had already shown up and had been speaking for several minutes, as O’Reilly need only have turned around to see.

John Kerry said once in one of his speeches that you must serrate the war and the warrior… and I think that is dead on. As someone who was active duty for many years, and now find myself on the roals of the VA (Aka I am a Service Connected Disabled Vet)

I think that we were lied to go into Iraq, and now that we are there, we have to finish the job, but damn this war is total BS…

The ACLU has filed a boatload of FOIA requests for documents… Some Highlights from the ACLU

“The files that we have obtained raise serious questions about obstruction of justice and whether government officials are acting with brazen impunity,” said Anthony D. Romero”

The new documents also contain extensive details about an array of other abuse investigations. These include:

An apparent attempt by a soldier in Baghdad to force a detainee to hold a gun to create the appearance of a justifiable homicide.
Two mock executions of Iraqi juveniles by Army personnel (documents obtained by the ACLU two weeks ago showed that U.S. Marines had also conducted a mock execution of juvenile detainees).
Allegations of a competition among Army dog handlers at Abu Ghraib prison to see who could make Iraqi detainees urinate themselves the fastest.
The use of death threats during interrogations. Command failures in providing appropriate training to military interrogators in Baghdad detention facilities.

Back to work in the AM…

Well I wanted to with you all a happy holiday season.

I found myself receiving a phone call a few days before Christmas from a good friend whom I worked with at Booz Allen Hamilton. He has left BAH to take a 6 month contracting job at AOL, and got the word the Tuesday before Christmas that he was going to be let go that Friday. Merry F'ing Christmas. He was only in month 3 of the contract, the word was that they just did not have the money and laid off a lot of people. Thank God Bush's economic stimulus is working….

So pray for his loss, he has 2 children and a new house. He is a smart guy, but there are just too few jobs out there for people.

My thought of the day, From the white house, I am sure everything looks great, and when you are an idiot and surround yourself by "Yes men".
