Press to Scott - We no Longer Trust You, or this Administration.

Writing by on Monday, 31 of October , 2005 at 9:22 pm

Scoot McClellan, the Official White House spin master got a grilling today, as always, the bolds are mine as are the comments.

Q Let me just follow up on an aspect of this and try it again here. On October 7, 2003, you were asked about a couple of the key players here, Karl Rove and Scooter Libby, as well as another administration official who has not figured in the investigation, so far as we know. And you said the following, “There are unsubstantiated accusations that are made, and that’s exactly what happened in the case of these three individuals,” including Rove and Libby. “They’re good individuals, they’re important members of our White House team, and that’s why I spoke with them, so that I could come back to you and say that they were not involved. You were wrong then, weren’t you?

MR. McCLELLAN: David, it’s not a question of whether or not I’d like to talk more about this. I think I’ve indicated to you all that I’d be glad to talk about this once this process is complete, and I look forward to that opportunity. But, again, we have been directed by the White House Counsel’s Office not to discuss this matter or respond to questions about it.

Q That was a public representation that was made to the American people.

MR. McCLELLAN: Hang on. We can have this conversation, but let me respond.

Q No, no, no, because it’s such an artful dodge. Whether there’s a question of legality –

MR. McCLELLAN: No, I disagree with you.

Q Whether there’s a question of legality, we know for a fact that there was involvement. We know that Karl Rove, based on what he and his lawyer have said, did have a conversation about somebody who Patrick Fitzgerald said was a covert officer of the Central Intelligence Agency. We know that Scooter Libby also had conversations.

MR. McCLELLAN: I don’t think that’s accurate.

Q So aside from the question of legality here, you were wrong, weren’t you?

MR. McCLELLAN: Again, David, if I were to get into commenting from this podium while this legal proceeding continues, I might be prejudicing the opportunity for there to be a fair and impartial trial. And I’m just not going to do that. I know very –

Q You speak for the President. Your credibility and his credibility is not on criminal trial. But it may very well be on trial with the American public, don’t you agree?

MR. McCLELLAN: No, I’m very confident in the relationship that we have in this room, and the trust that has been established between us. This relationship –

Q See those cameras? It’s not about us. It’s about what the American people –

MR. McCLELLAN: This relationship is built on trust, and you know very well that I have worked hard to earn the trust of the people in this room, and I think I’ve earned it –

Q Is the President — let me just follow up on one more thing.

MR. McCLELLAN: — and I think I’ve earned it with the American people. I am an American, and I think you are a liar in the highest order

Q Does the President think that Karl Rove did anything wrong?

MR. McCLELLAN: Well, I think it would be good for you to allow me the opportunity to respond to your questions without jumping in. I’m glad to do that. I look forward to the opportunity –

Q I haven’t heard a response.

MR. McCLELLAN: Well, no, I have been responding to you, David, and there’s no need — you’re a good reporter, there’s no need to be rude or disrespectful. We can have a conversation and respond to these questions, if you’ll just give me the opportunity to respond. I’m glad to do that.

We need to let this legal process continue. The special counsel indicated the other day that it is ongoing. And that’s what we’re going to do from this White House. That’s the policy that we have set for quite some time now.

Q In the year 2000, the President said the following: “In my administration, we will ask not only what is legal, but what is right; not just what the lawyers allow, but what the public deserves.” Doesn’t the American public deserve some answers from this President about the role of his Vice President in this story and what he knew and when he knew it, and how he feels about the conduct of his administration?

MR. McCLELLAN: He says in a nutshell, NO!The American people deserve a White House that is committed to doing their work. We are focused on the priorities of the American people. As the President indicated Friday, we’ve got a job to do, and we’re going to do it. We’re going to continue to focus on our efforts to protect the American people and to spread prosperity here at home,Holycrap, you have just messed this up all to hell, if this is this adminstrations priorities, then you have FAILED beyond failed!!. We’re going to move forward on the Supreme Court nomination. I disagree Scotty, this president ran on a “Moral” ticket, it is clear that was a lie, so the question is valid, We do deserve some answers!

People in this White House fully understand what’s expected of them. We are expected to focus on the people’s business, first and foremost, and that’s what we always do. We’re also expected to adhere to the highest ethical standards. People understand that in this White House. That’s what the President expects, and that’s what the American people expect. And we’ve got a great team here, and we’ll continue to adhere to those standards.

The New Media is Are White House Shills, and Russert Proves it.

Writing by on Monday, 31 of October , 2005 at 4:18 pm

Randi pointed this out in her first hour of her show, and I wanted to check it out. Tim Russert of Meet the Press said something that was very telling, and yet, Randi is the only one that spoke up about it.

From this Sundays Meet the Press

MR. RUSSERT: And the reason Libby called me, for the record, was he was complaining about a report he had been watching on MSNBC.

Mr. Fitzgerald, the special counsel, on Friday said this about what Libby knew before his conversations with me or Matt Cooper. Let’s watch.

So Randi pointed this out, and I agree this is very disturbing. What Tim is saying is that this administration calls the press and bitches about what they are covering, and the press takes their call. This shows that YES, the media is nothing more than a shill to the administration. The right hand man of the vice president of the United States calls a reporter to BITCH about something on TV.

We are doomed…

Bush Nominates Alito for Supreme Court

Writing by on Monday, 31 of October , 2005 at 12:24 pm

What do we know about this fellow? (Thank you to ThinkProgress.org, Again)

*Well he is Catholic, this would make 56% of the SCOTUS Catholic, the US population that is Catholic is 24.5%, so the SCOTUS is farther than ever representing America.

*ALITO WOULD OVERTURN ROE V. WADE: In his dissenting opinion in Planned Parenthood v. Casey, Alito concurred with the majority in supporting the restrictive abortion-related measures passed by the Pennsylvania legislature in the late 1980

Numbers Are in, and Bush Sucks Ass!

Writing by on Monday, 31 of October , 2005 at 12:38 am

Lots and lots of number in this poll, over-all, Bush’s administration has real ethical problems, remember that this is the very thing that the Republicans ran on in 1994 in what they call the “Republican Revolution”, they said, “The Dems have no ethics, they are corrupt”. Well to paraphrase a comment made by Newt Gingrige last month, “It took the Republicans less than a decade to reach the level of corruption it took the democrats 40 years to achieve.”

So here is the story from the Washington Post.

===”Bush’s overall job approval rating has fallen to 39 percent, the lowest of his presidency in Post-ABC polls. Barely a third of Americans — 34 percent — think Bush is doing a good job”===

A majority of Americans say the indictment of senior White House aide I. Lewis “Scooter” Libby signals broader ethical problems in the Bush administration, and nearly half say the overall level of honesty and ethics in the federal government has fallen since President Bush took office, according to a new Washington Post-ABC News survey.

The poll, conducted Friday night and yesterday, found that 55 percent of the public believes the Libby case indicates wider problems “with ethical wrongdoing” in the White House, while 41 percent believes it was an “isolated incident.” And by a 3 to 1 ratio, 46 percent to 15 percent, Americans say the level of honesty and ethics in the government has declined rather than risen under Bush.

In the aftermath of the latest crisis to confront the White House, Bush’s overall job approval rating has fallen to 39 percent, the lowest of his presidency in Post-ABC polls. Barely a third of Americans — 34 percent — think Bush is doing a good job ensuring high ethics in government, which is slightly lower than President Bill Clinton’s standing on this issue when he left office.

The survey also found that nearly seven in 10 Americans consider the charges against Libby to be serious. A majority — 55 percent — said the decision of Special Counsel Patrick J. Fitzgerald to bring charges against Libby was based on the facts of the case, while 30 percent said he was motivated by partisan politics

Some very Intresting Info Vanishs from New Story.

Writing by on Monday, 31 of October , 2005 at 12:20 am

Josh Marshall at the site Talking Points Memo (Great Site) as found something every odd. A story that was posted on Washington Post website has changed from the original, and the change are very telling.

From the current Barton Gellman artical on the Washington Post reads this…

On July 12, the day Cheney and Libby flew together from Norfolk, Libby talked to Miller and Cooper. That same day, another administration official who has not been identified publicly returned a call from Walter Pincus of The Post. He “veered off the precise matter we were discussing” and said Wilson’s trip was a boondoggle set up by Wilson’s wife, Pincus has written in Nieman Reports.

Well according to Nexis database, that is pinged when a story is posted (A lot like a blog), the story read like this…

On July 12, the day Cheney and Libby flew together from Norfolk, the vice president instructed his aide to alert reporters of an attack launched that morning on Wilson’s credibility by Fleischer, according to a well-placed source.

Libby talked to Miller and Cooper. That same day, another administration official who has not been identified publicly returned a call from Walter Pincus of The Post. He “veered off the precise matter we were discussing” and told him that Wilson’s trip was a “boondoggle” set up by Plame, Pincus has written in Nieman Reports.

Odd, what else is missing from this administration, and it’s shill media.

Top 10 Reasons Gay Marriage should be Illegal

Writing by on Sunday, 30 of October , 2005 at 10:49 am

  1. Being gay is not natural. Real Americans always reject unnatural things like eyeglasses, polyester, and air conditioning.
  2. Gay marriage will encourage people to be gay, in the same way that hanging around tall people will make you tall.
  3. Legalizing gay marriage will open the door to all kinds of crazy behavior. People may even wish to marry their pets because a dog has legal standing and can sign a marriage contract.
  4. Straight marriage has been around a long time and hasn’t changed at all; women are still property, blacks still can’t marry whites, and divorce is still illegal.
  5. Straight marriage will be less meaningful if gay marriage were allowed; the sanctity of Britany Spears’ 55-hour just-for-fun marriage would be destroyed.
  6. Straight marriages are valid because they produce children. Gay couples, infertile couples, and old people shouldn’t be allowed to marry because our orphanages aren’t full yet, and the world needs more children.
  7. Obviously gay parents will raise gay children, since straight parents only raise straight children.
  8. Gay marriage is not supported by religion. In a theocracy like ours, the values of one religion are imposed on the entire country. That’s why we have only one religion in America.
  9. Children can never succeed without a male and a female role model at home. That’s why we as a society expressly forbid single parents to raise children.
  10. Gay marriage will change the foundation of society; we could never adapt to new social norms. Just like we haven’t adapted to cars, the service-sector economy, or longer life spans.

Bush and the Republicans Reign over the Fastest Decline in Real Wages on Record.

Writing by on Saturday, 29 of October , 2005 at 10:26 pm

Nothing confuses me more than people, like a few readers here, that make far less than $100,000 a year, but swear that George Bush is the greatest thing under the sun. These people are being crushed by the gas prices, rising inflation, staggering increases in healthcare costs, and this administration will not even acknowledge that these are ever issues, I would go so far as to say, Bush does not even know that there are people in this nation that make less than $100,000.

Why are you still supporting this man and the Republican Party?
Do you think he or they cares about you? They don

Republican’s Show How Much they Hate the Poor.

==US House panel votes $844 mln cut in food stamps==

From Reuters,

On a party-line vote, a Republican-run U.S. House of Representatives committee voted to cut food stamps by $844 million on Friday, just hours after a new U.S. Agriculture Department report showed more Americans are struggling to put food on the table.

About 300,000 Americans would lose benefits due to tighter eligibility rules for food stamps, the major U.S. antihunger program, under the House plan. The cuts would be part of $3.7 billion pared from Agriculture Department programs over five years as part of government-wide spending reductions.

Agriculture Committee chairman Bob Goodlatte defended the decision, saying only a sliver of food stamp spending was affected and, for the most part, the cuts would eliminate people not truly eligible.

This is not a giveaway program that results in windfall profits,” said North Carolina Republican G.K. Butterfield in opposing the cuts. “That is not moral. That is not American.”

Approved 25-20, the committee package now will become part of an omnibus budget-cutting bill.

===Fact: Corrupt Republicans would rather keep the tax cuts for the rich, and allow Americans to go without food. Sad.===

I love in the Washington DC Area, so I get stuck in a lot of traffic. I use to get about 50/50 Thumbs up vs. Middle Up. The last month or so, I was getting about 75/25 Thumbs vs Middle, and now, I get no Middles, I think that the anti-Bush people are happy as hell, while the Bush supporters jest hang their heads in shame.

By the way, you can get your own stickers at my store, and if you do, it will help to keep my site hosted. Thanks!

Bush’s Worst Nightmare.

Writing by on Friday, 28 of October , 2005 at 8:55 pm

From today…

QUESTION: What can you say about what you’re still working on then?

FITZGERALD: I can’t. I don’t mean that fliply, but the grand jury doesn’t give an announcement about what they’re doing, what they’re looking at, unless they charge an indictment.

FITZGERALD: I can tell you that no one wants this thing to be over as quickly as I do, as quickly as Mr. Eckenrode does. I’d like to wake up in my bed in Chicago, he’d like to wake up in his bed in Philadelphia, and we recognize that we want to get this thing done.

I will not end the investigation until I can look anyone in the eye and tell them that we have carried out our responsibility sufficiently to be sure that we’ve done what we could to make intelligent decisions about when to end the investigation. We hope to do that as soon as possible. I just hope that people will take a deep breath and just allow us to continue to do what we have to do.
