Looks like maybe one Republican has some questions about Bush’s assertion that he can break the 4th Amendment and spy on Americans citizens.
From the AP, via Yahoo News
Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Arlen Specter said Thursday he is considering legislation to cut off funding for the Bush administration’s secret domestic wiretapping program until he gets satisfactory answers about it from the White House."Institutionally, the presidency is walking all over Congress at the moment," Specter, R-Pa., told the panel. "If we are to maintain our institutional prerogative, that may be the only way we can do it.
Or you could Now Arlen Specter is doing okay, but there is a far better way to deal with this, a way that is more ACTION and less, pussy move to make sure that they still do not hold this administration accountable for the udder distain for the laws that govern our nation, appoint a special council.
If the Republicans were less cowards and more wanting to work for Americans they would appoint a special council, give that person subpoena power and then the we can get down to the brass tacks. Hell, from almost the first day the Republicans took control in 1994 they had a special council riding Clinton’s ass. When it was all said and done they charges Clinton with nada, are they scared that the same may not happen this time?
