WOW, it is a great day to be in the Republican Party, first you have a LA Senator who has had another maddam come out and say he was such a nice guy to the whores. Now you have a Florida GOP Congress who offered to pay an undercover police officer $20 to allow him to perform oral sex.
Florida Rep. Robert “Bob” Allen, R-Merritt Island was arrested for solicitation of a prostitute. according to the Tallahassee Newspaper
According to police, the park was under surveillance today by a detail of undercover Titusville Police officers. Officers noticed Allen acting suspicious as he went in and out of the men’s restroom three times. Minutes later, he solicited an undercover male officer inside the restroom, offering to perform oral sex for $20.

The Republicans today filibuster an Amendment offered by Jim Webb of Virginia (Former Marine, son is Active Duty as we speak) that would make it a requirement that the troops get as much time at home as they do in Iraq. Right now Bush is killing our troops by keeping them in Iraq for 18 months, and them giving them only 12 or less back home… This amendment would have given them as much time home.
Data point 2932 that the Republicans don’t give a shit about the troops. They also do not give a shit about family values, because how can you expect our troops spouses to remain happy in the marriage when they are gone 60% of the time.
The vote was 56-41, Webb, and the troops, needed 60 for it to pass.
The troops should think twice before they vote Republican, because Republicans HATE YOU!

It is nice to know that the top law officer in America, the one that we trust to enforce the law is a compulsive Liar, and knowingly liked to congress.
Embattled U.S. Attorney General Alberto Gonzales faced a new firestorm on Tuesday sparked by a report he may have misled lawmakers in 2005 about civil liberty violations by the FBI.
Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Patrick Leahy, a Vermont Democrat, responded by promising that Gonzales would face tough questions about this and other matters at a hearing planned by his panel later this month.
And Rep. Jerrold Nadler, a New York Democrat who chairs a House Judiciary subcommittee, renewed calls for Gonzales to resign and called for the appointment of a special prosecutor to determine if he had misled Congress, “a serious crime.”
But President George W. Bush brushed off the flap about his longtime friend, who earlier served as White House counsel.
“The president has said repeatedly that he has great faith in the attorney general, and that has not changed,” said White House spokesman Scott Stanzel.
The Washington Post reported on Tuesday that Gonzales assured Congress in 2005 that the FBI had not abused powers granted under the anti-terror USA Patriot Act despite having received reports of potential violations.

What a fantastic load of hypocrisy, I love how the republicans have made it a crusade to force their sense of morality on Americans, and yet they frequent whores. GOP Senator David Vitter has run to the right-wing line, “This was a very serious sin in my past for which I am, of course, completely responsible,” he went on to say, “Several years ago, I asked for and received forgiveness from God and my wife in confession and marriage counselling.”
Look if you truly have a shit about your wife, and god for that matter, you would have never had your bone waxed by a call girl. I guess your faith was not as strong as you would have us believe. Well the way I look at it is we have another Hate filled member of the Republican party who can no longer be trusted attempting to legislate morality.
Sen. David Vitter, R-La., apologized Monday night for “a very serious sin in my past” after his telephone number appeared among those associated with an escort service operated by the so-called “D.C. Madam.”
Vitter’s spokesman, Joel Digrado, confirmed the statement in an e-mail sent to The Associated Press.
“This was a very serious sin in my past for which I am, of course, completely responsible,” Vitter said in the statement. “Several years ago, I asked for and received forgiveness from God and my wife in confession and marriage counseling. Out of respect for my family, I will keep my discussion of the matter there — with God and them. But I certainly offer my deep and sincere apologies to all I have disappointed and let down in any way.”
The statement containing Vitter’s apology said his telephone number was on old phone records of Pamela Martin and Associates before he ran for the Senate.
Deborah Jeane Palfrey was accused in federal court of racketeering by running a prostitution ring that netted more than $2 million over 13 years, beginning in 1993. She contends, however, that her escort service, Pamela Martin and Associates, was a legitimate business.

George Bush may have made a fatal error when he used his power to help cover-up a crime he helped perpetrate. The American people are done with this pile of crap and his partisan minions. A new poll from the non-partisan American Research Group shows that the approval for the “president” and his actions has dropped further (as if it could). The poll found that only 31% of Americans approve of Bush’s move to pardon Libby. Keep in mind he has no room to go from here because 30% of Americans also think Jesus will appear in a tortilla within the next few months. 30% also think that the moon makes it’s own light, not the reflection of the sun. So in short, only the dumbest of Americans approve of Bush and his acts of treason.
What is very fascinating about this poll is that 46% of Americans want the House to start impeachment proceedings to remove this partisan hack [Bush] from office.

The White House is going to stop another person who has been order to testify before the Senate Judiciary Committee from doing so. In another case of “executive privilege.” Sara Taylor uber-hack for Bush has been order to testify, but her lawyer responded to the chairman of the committee, Patrick Leahy, was told,
“Ms. Taylor expects to receive a letter from [White House Counsel Fred] Fielding on behalf of the President directing her not to comply with the Senate’s subpoena. These contrary directions undoubtedly create a monumental clash between the executive and legislative branches of government. This clash may ultimately be resolved by the judicial branch.…
[Taylor] is unquestionably loyal to and committed to the President and his agenda. …
As you can see, according to her lawyer, she is a hack if ever there was one. Furthermore, it shows that the White House wants to fight. To Leahy credit his response was…
The White House continues to try to have it both ways — to block Congress from talking with witnesses and accessing documents and other evidence while saying nothing improper occurred. I hope the White House stops this stonewalling and accepts my offer to negotiate a workable solution to the Committee’s oversight requests, as so many previous White Houses have.

Fred Thompson has always said that he was a straight shooter, because he was the great republican that had the balls to ask a tough question in the Nixon investigation. He boasts that he was above partisanship, but this story may be just that, a story. From the Boston Globe
The day before Senate Watergate Committee minority counsel Fred Thompson made the inquiry that launched him into the national spotlight — asking an aide to President Nixon whether there was a White House taping system — he telephoned Nixon’s lawyer.
Thompson tipped off the White House that the committee knew about the taping system and would be making the information public. In his all-but-forgotten Watergate memoir, “At That Point in Time,” Thompson said he acted with “no authority” in divulging the committee’s knowledge of the tapes, which provided the evidence that led to Nixon’s resignation. It was one of many Thompson leaks to the Nixon team, according to a former investigator for Democrats on the committee, Scott Armstrong , who remains upset at Thompson’s actions.
“Thompson was a mole for the White House,” Armstrong said in an interview. “Fred was working hammer and tong to defeat the investigation of finding out what happened to authorize Watergate and find out what the role of the president was.”

I am not sure what has caused the sudden destruction of unity in the republican party, but the GOP is over this lame duck. Sen. Pete Domenici (R-NM), an administration cheerleader for the last 6 years sent a press release where he said, “I want a new strategy for Iraq. I continue to completely support the men and women in the American Armed Forces. They have not failed us. It is the Iraqi government that is failing to make even modest progress to help Iraq itself or to merit the sacrifices being made by our men and women in uniform. I am unwilling to continue our current strategy.” Oh no, what is Bush going to do now that a few Republicans are thinking of the troops!
One reason for the fleeing of the party could be the whole Libby thing, they are to cowardly to actually say something, but willing to toss Bush under the bus on every other issue. I personally think that this issue is really all about Domenici, he is under investigation because his hands are all over the purge of US Attorney. This may be a very unpopular man looking for any good publicity.

The right wing is working hard to mobilize the lowest form of human the US has to offer, the right wing hate-mongers, and Snopes.com has taken the time to debunk it all. The Email is from the “American Family Association” a group with an bizzar obsession with homosexuals (In fact on their website, the “News” on the front page has 4 of 10 stories about gays), it reads the following…
Be one of one million Americans willing to take a stand in defense of two of our most precious freedoms — freedom of speech and freedom of religion. Here’s why:
A California lawsuit which is now headed to the U.S. Supreme Court would make the use of the words “natural family,” “marriage” and “union of a man and a woman” a “hate speech” crime in government workplaces. The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals has already ruled in favor of the plaintiffs.
CNN and The Washington Post both reported that General Peter Pace, former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of staff, was fired because of his publicly expressed moral opposition to homosexual behavior.
A bill now before Congress (H.R. 1592 / S. 1105) would criminalize negative comments concerning homosexuality, such as calling the practice of homosexuality a sin from the pulpit, a “hate crime” punishable by a hefty fine and time in prison. This dangerous legislation would take away our freedom of speech and our freedom of religion.
Well snopes.com has taken the time to show that every line of this hat-groups email is a lie. Honestly, what should we expect from a “Faith Bases” organization, other than lies. Frankly, Jesus would be disgusted with these people, they will all be in hell.
In the (Constitutional) convention George Mason argued that the President might use his pardoning power to “pardon crimes which were advised by himself” or, before indictment or conviction, “to stop inquiry and prevent detection.” James Madison responded:
If the President be connected, in any suspicious manner, with any person, and there be grounds to believe he will shelter him, the House of Representatives can impeach him; they can remove him if found guilty…
…………………
Madison went on to say contrary to his position in the Philadelphia convention, that the President could be suspended when suspected, and his powers would devolve on the Vice President, who could likewise be suspended until impeached and convicted, if he were also suspected.

“I don’t believe my role is to replace the verdict of a jury with my own, unless there are new facts or evidence of which a jury was unaware, or evidence that the trial was somehow unfair.”
This is in responce to why he never stepped in and stopped the death of 157 people put to death then he was in charge of Texas. Now, a rich white boy who helped him cover up an act of treason, justice was somehow denied here. America was once a guiding light for all others to follow, now we are a banana republic at best.

Today George Bush said that the rule of law means nothing to him. In what can only be described as obstruction of justice by a sitting president, George Bushcommuted the sentence of Scooter Libby. This is actually worse than pardoning him, because it leaves the White House with its very well-worn canned response to any question about Scooter , “the White House will not comment on any ongoing investigations for court trials.”  It also leaves alive Scooter Libby’s ability to plead the fifth is brought before Congress, because technically while the president has made it so that he does not have to serve jail time, he is still guilty of a crime, that he can still appeal.
The irony here is that while Bush was governor state of Texas over 157 people asked for the same privilege he granted scooter today, they’re all dead. What’s more, George Bush commuted the sentence in order to ensure that Scooter does not have to ever reveal the criminal acts that all fingers are pointing to in the White House.
It is a sad day here in America, unfortunately one of countless sad days we’ve had the Bush administration has occupied the White House.
A federal appeals court ruled that I. Lewis “Scooter” Libby must begin his jail sentence in a federal penitentiary pending an appeal of his conviction. Libby, who was a top White House adviser and former Chief of Staff to Vice President Dick Cheney, was convicted earlier this year of perjury, obstruction of justice, and making false statements in a federal investigation of the outing of former covert CIA Agent [tag]Valerie Plame Wilson. He was sentenced to 30 months in jail.
“A federal appeals court has refused to delay the imprisonment of former White House aide I. Lewis “Scooter” Libby, who was sentenced in the CIA leak case,” a breaking AP news release stated.
CNN’s Political Ticker added, “In an order handed down Monday, a three judge panel wrote Libby ‘has not shown that the appeal raises a substantial question’ that regular appeals court will consider when its next term begins in September.”
The Federal Bureau of Prisons has not set a date for Libby to report to jail. CNN added that Libby could still seek relief from the Supreme Court.
Are you shitting me, Libby thinks that he has any standing to seek relief from the US Supreme Court, what is his argument does Libby really think he deserves more justice than that of every other crook and liar?
