CREW just asked the Senate Ethics Committee to investigate Senator Pete Domenici (R-NM) for his role in the growing scandal surrounding the dismissal of David Iglesias, the U.S. Attorney from New Mexico. As noted below, Senator Domenici called Mr. Iglesias to discuss the status of a pending corruption case. The release and our complaint against Senator Domenici can be found here:
Today Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) asked the Senate Select Committee on Ethics to investigate whether Sen. Pete V. Domenici (R-NM) violated Senate Rules by contacting the U.S. Attorney in Albuquerque, New Mexico, David C. Iglesias, and pressuring him about an ongoing corruption probe.
Sen. Domenici has acknowledged that he contacted Mr. Iglesias to inquire about an ongoing corruption probe of Democrats. Mr. Iglesias previously stated that in mid-October, he was pressured about the pace of the investigation by two New Mexico lawmakers. Initially, when asked about Mr. Iglesias’s allegations, Sen. Domenici stated, “I have no idea what he’s talking about.” Sen. Domenici has now admitted that he called Mr. Iglesias, stating “I asked Mr. Iglesias if he could tell me what was going on in that investigation and give me an idea of what time frame we were looking at.”

I really agree with Bob Geiger when he says [he] is makin a list. These are the Republicans who hate Americans so much that they would not even vote for a minimum wage increase after 9 years of nothing. I have bolded the ones that are up for reelection (Thanks Bob).
Oh and one Senator did not bother to vote, and it is presidential candidate and spokesman for the right-wing whack-jobs, Senator Brownback, from the Theocratic Republic of Kansas

This story just makes me giddy. Now that the Republicans are out of power, and for the most part, the Gestapo that ruled them for so long has lost election, or under indictment is gone, and the fact that the White House is thumbing its nose at the Military and the American people on Iraq, Republicans are starting to act like individuals, and that is causing the Republicans to fall apart.
House Republican leaders, who confidently predicted they would drive a wedge through the new Democratic majority, have found their own party splintering, with Republican lawmakers siding with Democrats in droves on the House's opening legislative blitz.
Freed from the pressures of being the majority and from the heavy hand of former leaders including retired representative Tom DeLay (R-Tex.), many back-bench Republicans are showing themselves to be more moderate than their conservative leadership and increasingly mindful of shifting voter sentiment. The closest vote last week — Friday's push to require the federal government to negotiate lower drug prices for Medicare — pulled 24 Republicans. The Democrats' homeland security bill attracted 68 Republicans, the minimum wage increase 82.
"You're freer to vote your conscience," said Rep. Jo Anne Emerson (R-Mo.), who received an 88 percent voting record from the American Conservative Union in 2005 but has so far sided with Democrats on new budget rules, Medicare prescription-drug negotiations, raising the minimum wage and funding stem cell research. "Or, really, I feel free to represent my constituents exactly as they want me to be."
"Times have changed. I don't want to be someone who they say is too stubborn to change too," said Rep. Rodney Alexander (R-La.), whose 92 percent conservative rating did not stop him from voting with Democrats on the homeland security and minimum-wage bills.
After their stinging defeat in November, Republican leaders in the House had gamely promised to draft procedural motions and parliamentary gambits that they said would split the new majority. With so many new Democrats hailing from moderate-to-conservative districts, even some Democrats saw the pledge as plausible.
In theory, Republicans have made good on their promises. Republicans argued vociferously against Democratic measures over the past two weeks, saying new deficit-control rules would guarantee tax increases, stringent homeland security measures would cripple commerce, and a minimum-wage increase would hurt the economy.
Man I love it when the smug Republicans fall on their asses. You know they were a failure as a majority, proving to Americans that they could not govern, and not it looks like they can not even be an effective Minority.
A California company under investigation on suspicion of hiring undocumented workers won a contract in the late 1990s to help build the San Diego border fence with Mexico to thwart illegal immigration, federal records show.
Federal authorities said there is no indication that the company, Golden State Fence Co., which has an office in Oceanside, hired undocumented workers on the fence project.
Over the past year, Golden State has been the focus of an investigation by the Department of Homeland Security for allegedly hiring undocumented workers on several projects, including those at military bases. No charges have been filed.
In 1997, Golden State received a contract worth more than $590,000 from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to work on a portion of the 14-mile barrier separating San Diego from Tijuana.
As authorities continue their investigation, they acknowledged in recent interviews and public documents that Golden State had worked on a portion of the fence project.

We all know Bush spent the first half of his life drunk and/or stoned out of his mind, we also know the Bush girls are quickly following in their fathers footsteps. Well Wonkette has a great post about the Bush twins being kicked out of Argentina, where they were celebrating their 25th Birthday. Go read and prepare yourself for what we all know is coming. It will include nude photos, girl on girl kissing, and/or a secret abortion.

WARNING: SOME OF THE LINKS POSTED ARE TO THE FREEREPUBLIC WEBSITE, THE SCUM OF THE RIGHT AT BEST, IT MAY BE SEEN BY THE FBI AS A TERRORIST SITE NOW. CLICK, AND THEN SHOWER
I have always suspected that in order to be a member of the FreeRepublic website you needed to have 3 of the following 4 qualities.
You must be so close minded, so to the point that even hearing an opinion that only slightly deviates from yours drives you to violence.
You must only get your news from FOX or the hillbilly heroin addict Run Limbaugh, all other sources of news will destroy you, see number 1
You must have a hatred for all things Democratic, no matter how poor you are, or how much the Republicans are shitting on you, you must always vote Republican, even if it is against your own best interests. In short, self hating.
You think you love Jesus, because you think you know what the bible says, when in fact you do not, you just know what your preacher, or FOX tells you the bible says. You choose not to read the bible, see Number 2.
Well today the FBI arrested Chad Conrad Castagana, 39, for sending letters laced with a white powered to Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi, David Letterman, John Stewart and other high-profile figures. Shocker this person is a rabid Bush supporter and member of the extremist site FreeRepublic (user name marc costanzo) would also hate America so much that he would commit an act of terror, would waste its resources, resources that could be used to really fight terror.
I am guessing he has all 4 of the above qualifications to post on FreeRepublic. We know he has number 3, because he is un-employed and lives with his mom, and he votes Republican. Hey loser, how is the great Republican economy doing for you? Oh, it's not…

Hey, here is another factor- -
The New York Post is the only newspaper that reported Keith Olbermann's panic attack when he discovered that someone had mailed him a 'Prank Anthrax' letter .
The New York Daily News reported the incident in Clinton's Harlem office the other day, and did so in a semi-humorous way
Maybe the American People like to read about such stuff .
The NY Post got high circulation in the 1980's by headlining stories about serial killers .

Not to make light of the situation, but drama queen Olbermann put on quite a production even after he'd been told the powder was harmless and checked out by doctors and told he was fine. He demanded that he be rushed to the hospital for more tests. I wouldn't be even remotely surprised if he mailed it to himself. I've never seen someone more desperate for attention and approval. __________________

John McCain has stated that he has opened up an exploratory committee to run for President in 2008. First he hated Evangelical Christians, then he loved them, then he was against Bush before he was for Bush, then he was in love with Bush, then he liked him again. John McCain will never get the Republican nomination, I mean I hope he does, because that will only help the Democrats. All in all, McCain has flip-flopped more than all of congress combined, his fellow Republicans are going to tear him alive.

Well the GOP has resorted to using illeagal phone calls. Here is what they do, and it is truly low, they fake calls as Democrats, and tell them to vote for so-and-so, but they call the same people over and over like 50 times! The hope is to make the voter so mad at the Democrat that they do not go and vote.
It is really low, and sad… the cowards will do anything to stay in power…

You remember Osama bib Laden, he was the master mind behind this event that we collectively refer to as 9/11. Maybe you have heard our “President”, and his Republican backers, spew it out of his mouth a few thousand times. At some point we were “going to get those that brought down these towers” but our “leader” did not. He let the man that created one of the most tragic days in recent American history to get away, because capturing Osama bin Laden was not really the goal, going to war in Iraq, that was what George really wanted.
Well the Washington Post has written an article that is clear, going to war in Iraq has cost us the capture of bin Laden.
On the videotape obtained by the CIA, bin Laden is seen confidently instructing his party how to dig holes in the ground to lie in undetected at night. A bomb dropped by a U.S. aircraft can be seen exploding in the distance. "We were there last night," bin Laden says without much concern in his voice. He was in or headed toward Pakistan, counterterrorism officials think.
That was December 2001. Only two months later, Bush decided to pull out most of the special operations troops and their CIA counterparts in the paramilitary division that were leading the hunt for bin Laden in Afghanistan to prepare for war in Iraq, said Flynt L. Leverett, then an expert on the Middle East at the National Security Council.
"I was appalled when I learned about it," said Leverett, who has become an outspoken critic of the administration’s counterterrorism policy. "I don’t know of anyone who thought it was a good idea. It’s very likely that bin Laden would be dead or in American custody if we hadn’t done that."
Several officers confirmed that the number of special operations troops was reduced in March 2001.

To be honest I think that the current pack of Republicans are SO corrupt that they make anything the Democrats ever did in all of history look like nothing more than child’s play. In this case the son of the now famous internet specialist Ted Stephens, Corrupt Republican from Alaska, has some explaining to do, like, why did the FBI raid your office, what were they looking for, and just for fun, why does the GOP loath the American people?
Federal agents swarmed legislative offices around the state Thursday, executing search warrants in a coordinated series of raids that appeared to target the longstanding relationship between the oil-field service company Veco and leading lawmakers.
Above Anchorage’s 4th Avenue, FBI agents spent most of the afternoon behind the closed doors and drawn blinds of the fifth-floor offices of Senate President Ben Stevens and Senate Rules Committee Chairman John Cowdery, both Anchorage Republicans. Through slits in the blinds, one agent in Stevens’ office, wearing rubber gloves, could be seen packing away evidence in a container.
Republicans have lost their way when it comes to many core GOP principles and may be in jeopardy heading into the fall elections, Sen. Chuck Hagel, R-Neb. says. Hagel, a possible presidential candidate in 2008, said Sunday that the GOP today is very different party from the one when he first voted Republican.
"First time I voted was in 1968 on top of a tank in the Mekong Delta," said Hagel, a Vietnam veteran. "I voted a straight Republican ticket. The reason I did is because I believe in the Republican philosophy of governance. It’s not what it used to be. I don’t think it’s the same today."
Hagel asked: "Where is the fiscal responsibility of the party I joined in ‘68? Where is the international engagement of the party I joined - fair, free trade, individual responsibility, not building a bigger government, but building a smaller government?"

It is now standard procedure now for a politician to send a staffer to the rallies of the opponent and video tape it. Well in the Old Dominion (That is Virginia for the rest of you) the current Republican Senator, George Allen has sent the message to the almost all white audience, “I am your Senator and I will maintain the racist past we in Virginia are known for”
He pointed out during a rally the staffer from the Webb campaign, a gentleman is of Indian decent, and said the following;
"Lets give a welcome to Macaque, here. Welcome to America and the real world of Virginia," said Allen, who then began talking about the "war on terror."
Now what is odd is, unlike George Allen, who was born in the liberal state of California, this Webb staffer, S.R. Sidarth, a senior at the University of Virginia, was born in Virginia, Fairfax VA to be exact. . You may also ask, what the hell does Macaque mean? Well you have to be a real dye in the wool racist to know this one… Macaque is a French term that means a Negro (originally) or a person of North-African origin (more recently); derived from macaque monkeys. This was not a slip of the tongue, this is a message to his fellow White Republican racist that he is a racist on a global scale, he knows how to point out a racial slurs in 22 different languages.
He’s lying. And anyone who speaks French knows what a Macaque is. "Macaque" is French for monkey. And George Allen speaks French.
Here is a quote from the president of the University of Virginia, Patricia Cormier at UVA’s commencement exercises in Spring 2005 introducing Senator George Allen:
"A little known fact about Senator Allen is that his undergraduate education was enhanced substantially by his excellent performance in French class, taught by none other than Dr. Raymond Cormier, visiting professor of French at Longwood, and my husband! I have up here on the podium the gradebook, and he got a very good grade. No wonder the senator can applaud his superior education."

Well this morning Joe Lieberman filed a giant “Screw You” to the Democratic Party and the people of Connecticut. They spoke, and Joe did not listen, nothing has changed.
Well he has filed as an independent today, working to make sure that the splits the Democratic vote, and really helps the Republican party, again, nothing changed.
"I feel we began to get our message across strongly and we’re going to keep on going," Lieberman told The Associated Press on Wednesday. "This race is going to be all about who can get more done and who can be a better representative of Connecticut." Joe, you are wrong, you have been a horrid representative for the state of Connecticut, your fair state is second to last in the amount of money that is returned to the state. Only the state of New Jersey gets more screwed out of it’s tax money more. Joe be careful running on your record, it is very PRO-JOE, and a little weak on pro-Connecticut. All and all, you have failed the people of Connecticut.
I hope the party hands you your ass, you are a cry baby, it is all about you, and you do not care about the Democrats, the people of Connecticut, and you have pissed on the process that has made this America great. I hope they strip you of your power and relegate you to the slums of the Senate until you are unseated in November.
