Bush Wants to Hide the Deaths in Iraq From Americans.

Writing by Marq on Tuesday, 29 of May , 2007 at 2:26 pm

What the hell have we become… Bush will not even allow the funerals (By the way, the number of funeral attended by Bush of an Iraq Vet, ZERO!)

NY Times (bolds are mine)

‘They are basically asking me to stand in front of a unit before I go out with them and say that in the event that they are wounded, I would like their consent,” he said. “We are already viewed by some as bloodsucking vultures, and making that kind of announcement would make you an immediate bad luck charm.”

They are not letting us cover the reality of war,” he added. “I think this has got little to do with the families or the soldiers and everything to do with politics.”

….Until last year, no permission was required to publish photographs of the wounded, but families had to be notified of the soldier’s injury first. Now, not only is permission required, but any image of casualties that shows a recognizable name or unit is off-limits. And memorials for the fallen in Iraq can no longer be shown, even when the unit in question invites coverage.

Remember as Bush Veto’s the Troop Funding the Following.

ThinkProgress Points this out

George W. Bush was governor of Texas. Then, Bush criticized President Clinton for not setting a timetable for exiting Kosovo.

George W. Bush, 4/9/99:

“Victory means exit strategy, and it’s important for the president to explain to us what the exit strategy is.”

And on the specific need for a timetable:

George W. Bush, 6/5/99, Seattle Post-Intelligencer:

“I think it’s also important for the president to lay out a timetable as to how long they will be involved and when they will be withdrawn.”

Despite his past statements, Bush now refuses to apply the same standard to his war and smears those who want a similar timetable for Iraq.

Over 100 Soldiers Die in Iraq in April

Writing by Marq on Monday, 30 of April , 2007 at 9:52 am

This war is getting us nowhere, and we brave soldiers are dropping all over. END THIS WAR NOW!

Ironic it was 4 years ago tomorrow Bush had his "Mission Accomplished" speach. 4 Years, and we are still there!!!!

From AP

Five U.S. military personnel were killed over the weekend in Iraq, including three by a roadside bomb in Baghdad, the military said Monday, pushing the American death toll past 100 in the deadliest month so far this year.

Four Army soldiers died in eastern Baghdad, a predominantly Shiite Muslim area where U.S. and Iraqi forces have stepped up operations in the security crackdown that began Feb. 14. A Marine was killed in Anbar province, a Sunni Arab insurgent stronghold west of the capital.

An al-Qaida-linked group, meanwhile, vowed to pursue a "long-term war of attrition" in Anbar against U.S. forces and an alliance of Sunni tribal leaders who have turned against the terror network.

In violence Monday, a suicide car bomber apparently targeting an Interior Ministry convoy struck an Iraqi checkpoint near a busy square in the predominantly Sunni Arab area of Harthiyah in western Baghdad, killing four people and wounding 10, police said.

The bomber detonated his payload, causing part of the road to buckle, as he emerged from an underpass heading toward a checkpoint manned by Interior Ministry commandos. Those killed included two commandos and two civilians.

On Sunday, Iran agreed to join the U.S. and other countries at a conference on Iraq this week in Egypt, raising hopes the government in Tehran would help stabilize its violent neighbor and stem the flow of guns and bombs over the border.

Bush is done Throwing a Temper Tantrum for the Cameras

Writing by Marq on Friday, 23 of March , 2007 at 9:47 pm

It is very funny that George Bush just made a statement, in it he decried the Democrat’s vote on war funding as “Political theater” yet surrounded himself with military wife’s and children, speaking of political theater.

During the statement is almost sounded to me like he was going to threaten the troops and their safety in order to make a point. Given that this man has shown that human life means nothing to him, there is no telling what he will do.

Here is my message to Bush: You got the war funding, you got the money you asked for. Take it, or get nothing. You know that the word Representative in “House of Representative” is us, the American people, and while I know that you, Mr. Bush, hate the American people, those in the house speak for us, that is what Representative means. So what you should walk away with is that the American people want this war OVER. You have f*cked it up, victory is no longer an option, all you have to do is ask the Iraqi people, so we need to manage the withdraw, we need to get our men and woman out of there.

Osama Celebrates his 50th Birthday!

Writing by Marq on Saturday, 10 of March , 2007 at 4:08 pm

As we all have learned by now, George Bush does not give a shit about those that perpetrated the tragic events of September 11, 2001. If he did he would have never gone to Iraq, a nation that had nothing to do with 9/11. Need more proof? Well how about this, the man that claimed to carry out that horror is still free, and thanks to the pathetic “Commander in Chief” Osama bin Laden is celebrating his 50th Birthday today!

He should be in a box 6 feet under, but no, thanks to Bush allowing him to get away with murder (3000 or so) he is having birthday cake. Great job George!

Republicans Cower and Beg for What they Denied the Democrats.

Writing by on Tuesday, 2 of January , 2007 at 7:07 pm

Wow it is almost shocking to me how stunningly cowardly the Republicans are. Now that they are in the minority, and can not even take a shit without having to ask the Democrats, they are begging for the Democrats not to treat them the same way they treated them when they had power.

TPM has a new letter by the Republicans begging for the house to take up a Minority Bill of Rights the very same bill that the Republicans refused to even thing of hitting the floor when they were in charge

Here is the letter, dated December 29, 2006 Now lets look at a new story by the Washington Post dated June 24, 2004, Mr. Haster told the Democrats to stick it!

In short here is the new cowardly Republican mantra, "Please for the love of god do not do to us what we did to you", I say to them, We will get to your bill as soon as we are done fixing the Nation you so quicky distroyed. Oddly a few weeks ago they were in charge, you would think thay would have been smarter with their time, and maybe passed this?

Company Selected to Build Mexico Boarder Fence Under Investigation

Writing by on Monday, 27 of November , 2006 at 7:54 pm

Golden State Fence Co, of California is under investigation for hiring undocumented aliens, ei illegal immigrants to build the fence.

The San Diego Times

A California company under investigation on suspicion of hiring undocumented workers won a contract in the late 1990s to help build the San Diego border fence with Mexico to thwart illegal immigration, federal records show.

Federal authorities said there is no indication that the company, Golden State Fence Co., which has an office in Oceanside, hired undocumented workers on the fence project.

Over the past year, Golden State has been the focus of an investigation by the Department of Homeland Security for allegedly hiring undocumented workers on several projects, including those at military bases. No charges have been filed.

In 1997, Golden State received a contract worth more than $590,000 from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to work on a portion of the 14-mile barrier separating San Diego from Tijuana.

As authorities continue their investigation, they acknowledged in recent interviews and public documents that Golden State had worked on a portion of the fence project.
