For the love of all good and holy in America I hope that Rudy Giuliani is the nominee for the GOP, because nothing would make the happier than those crazy freaking religious rights folks having to go to the polls in the vote for three-time divorce, pro abortion, New York lawyer.
Now the candidate wants the media to leave his family alone. He has asked us to ignore the fact that several of his kids not even speak to him, but he is a known adulterer, and other questionable personality flaws that casts serious doubt on his overall judgment.
Oh please for the love of God please elect this person your nominee.
From Reuters
The former mayor of New York conceded there were “complexities” among his relatives but said any troubled relationships were irrelevant to his performance in public life.
“I love my family very, very much, and I would do anything for them,” he said at a town hall meeting. “The best thing I can say is, kind of, to leave my family alone, you know, just like I’ll leave your family alone.
“If you want to judge me or I want to judge you, we’ll judge each other on our public performance. I don’t know your private life. You don’t know my private life,” he said.
Giuliani’s college-age son Andrew has said he and his father are estranged and he decided to spend the summer playing golf rather than campaign for him.
Giuliani’s daughter Caroline, bound for Harvard University this fall, recently posted support for Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama on her online MySpace profile, according to reports. The posting has since been withdrawn.
Other media have reported that Giuliani learned of his daughter’s plans to attend Harvard by reading about it in a newspaper.
Giuliani is divorced from their mother, local television personality Donna Hanover, who was his second wife. He and Hanover went through an acrimonious separation after he publicly revealed he was seeing another woman, Judith Nathan, while he was still married. He and Nathan have since married.

Wow, we all suspected that the Republicans were scared Americans, but now we know for sure.
A few Republicans presidential candidates are thinking of pulling out of the Republican YouTube Debate. Sources say that Rudy, the “Terror” candidate, and Mitt, the “Pander” candidate, may not participate. Even right-wing blogers get it, Patrick over at TechRepublican.com says,
This is a big mistake. The Democrats are afraid to answer questions from Big Bad Fox News Anchors, and the Republicans are afraid to answer questions from regular people. Which is worse?
Patrick, your on to something, I would rather my side snub the partisan hacks that are FOX NEWS than have my side cower in fear at the thought of real people asking phodo-real questions screened from 1000’s to a mear 20 or so. Face it, Republicans would love America a lot more if it was devoid of Americans.

Fred Thompson has always said that he was a straight shooter, because he was the great republican that had the balls to ask a tough question in the Nixon investigation. He boasts that he was above partisanship, but this story may be just that, a story. From the Boston Globe
The day before Senate Watergate Committee minority counsel Fred Thompson made the inquiry that launched him into the national spotlight — asking an aide to President Nixon whether there was a White House taping system — he telephoned Nixon’s lawyer.
Thompson tipped off the White House that the committee knew about the taping system and would be making the information public. In his all-but-forgotten Watergate memoir, “At That Point in Time,” Thompson said he acted with “no authority” in divulging the committee’s knowledge of the tapes, which provided the evidence that led to Nixon’s resignation. It was one of many Thompson leaks to the Nixon team, according to a former investigator for Democrats on the committee, Scott Armstrong , who remains upset at Thompson’s actions.
“Thompson was a mole for the White House,” Armstrong said in an interview. “Fred was working hammer and tong to defeat the investigation of finding out what happened to authorize Watergate and find out what the role of the president was.”
Oh there is more, go read.

From me I could not make this up if I tried files, the South Carolina chair of the Giuliani 2008 campaign was indicted today on charges of possession of cocaine with intent to distribute. Now was less than a week ago that we reported that Rudy Giuliani’s Pennsylvania chairman had a long history as a felon. I’m starting to think that Rudy Giuliani has more criminals in his sphere of influence than George Bush had. While I know that Rudy Giuliani actually getting elected president is a long shot, I can only imagine what his cabinet would look like, he would probably be the only president in history that would have to pardon someone before nominating them.

Today, the Giuliani campaign sent out a big press release that they had hired a new chair for the Rudy Giuliani 2008 campaign in Pennsylvania, but as with many Republican new hires, no one bothered to look into his background. They announced the hiring of Robert B. Asher, a prominent Republican hack from Pennsylvania, the same Robert B. Asher who is convicted of bribery and corruption back in the 80’s. He was convicted of the scheme to award no-bid contracts in exchange for $300,000, at least we can say he’s not cheap.
This is par for the course Rudy Giuliani, if you’ll recall he is the one that recommended Bernard “Bernie” Kerik for the position of head of the Department of Homeland Security. On Giuliani’s advice “President” Bush announced his nomination to the position, but quickly had to withdraw it after it became clear that Mr. Kerik was a shady character at best. Bernie pled guilty in June of last year to two counts of ethical violations and was ordered to pay a fine in the amount of $221,000.
I am almost starting to think that Rudy Giuliani is pretty much surrounded by criminals. It least I can say that if he was elected president we would go from one criminal enterprise to the next. believes they recycle, criminals that is.

UPDATE: Fred Thompson’s wife is 4 years younger than his youngest daughter, his youngest!

Fred Thompson is the man who spent the better part of his adult life as a lobbyist for offshore companies? Fred was a registered foreign agent before he became a congressman?
The once divorced ACTOR from Hollywood California is married to a gal that is a few years older than his own daughter. The dude married his daughter’s friend. That is creepy as hell, and very odd for the great conservative savior of the Republican party.
Go for it Republicans, make this man your nominee, please!

I wonder if the Republicans regret their blind support for Bush? I mean honestly the man is such a stubborn ass, but even while the Republican leadership begging him to change course somewhere, anywhere he refuses. Bush doesn’t have a crap, he’s not up for reelection, all his friends are rich, and he will live comfortably for the rest of his life regardless of who is in office (as long as he can stave off indictment for war crimes). He has rejected the Democrats latest war funding offer which pretty much gives him exactly what he wants, and while the timetables were included, the Democrats inserted a clause that allows the “President” of the United States to ignore the if he wanted to. As far as I’m concernedthe Democrats folded and gave him what he wanted, unfortunately the douche bag is too stupid to see it.
don’t worry his numbers are looking so bad that the Republicans will not be able to raise enough money in heaven or earth to overcome the Bush debt. Right now I guarantee you there are conservative priests who are currently picketing in front of an abortion clinic who would not vote for a Republican.
Rasmussen has a great story on Bush’s numbers.
For the third straight day, the President’s Job Approval ratings are at the lowest level ever recorded by Rasmussen Reports. Just 34% of American adults Approve of the way that George W. Bush is performing his duties as President (see comments on comparing Approval Ratings from different polling firms).
This comes at a time when the nation’s investor confidence has fallen to a new low for 2007 and consumer confidence is near its low point for the year. Just 20% of Americans believe the economy is getting better while 62% say it is getting worse.
Confidence is also low when it comes to the overall War on Terror. Most Americans believe that history will judge the U.S. mission in Iraq a failure.
Yesterday, preliminary agreement was reached on immigration reform. Popular support for the legislation will depend on whether it is viewed primarily as a means for stopping the flow of illegal immigrants or as a means to provide amnesty for those who entered the country illegally. Political leaders from both parties have continually misread the public on this issue.
In the race to replace Bush, Senator Hillary Clinton (D) leads both former Senator Fred Thompson (R) and former Governor Mitt Romney (R) by three percentage points. John Edwards (D) now has a two-point advantage over Rudy Giuliani (R), but enjoys a larger lead of John McCain (R). Clinton and former Mayor Rudy Giuliani remain on top in races for the Democratic and Republican presidential nominations. Democrats have an 11-point edge in the Generic Congressional Ballot.
